Web/Python Engineer

Our client is a dynamic, growing, cash-flow positive startup located in Midtown Manhattan that builds high-performance analytics software for big-data systems. They are looking for bright, motivated Open Source Software Engineers to join their team. If you’re sharp, can pick up multiple languages, and can look for ways to add value without a lot of hand-holding, they want to talk to you.
The team is looking for Developers that can learn quickly on the job and that are passionate about solving complex problems with large data sets. You don’t need five years of experience, but you should be able to point to some examples of work you’ve done and also provide code samples. Applicants should thrive in a fast paced, hard working environment that values integrity, hard work and good ideas.

Required skills:
•Linux
•jQuery of equivalent Javascript framework experience
•D3.js
•Experience with a scripting language like Perl or Python

Desired Skills:
• DBIx::Class
•Rose::DB
•Document DB systems like Mongo
•Hadoop
•Work experience with Amazon’s EC2 and S3
•C, Shell
