Javascript Engineer Needed for Media Firm

JavaScript Engineer

You will be part of a mission-critical team responsible for the design, support, and availability of the application foundations that support all of our newsrooms across the country and our tens of millions of monthly visitors.

You will collaborate closely with our cohort in content strategy, design and revenue to make sure we are delivering a best-in-class user experience at the scale required and champion good engineering practices, constantly seeking the right balance between quality and delivery.

Requirements to apply

• You have five years of professional experience as a front-end engineer, and you enjoy a deep knowledge of Javascript.

• You have lead the production of websites at scale (more than one million monthly uniques), and you have developed strong mechanisms for organizing, tracking, and measuring tracks of technical work against a plan, and made those plans transparent and accessible to your team.

• You have a strong point of view on modern JavaScript design patterns and experience with frameworks and JS libraries (React, VueJS, AngularJS or similar), and how they interact with modern CSS architectures and tooling.

• You have contributed to defining software engineering standards and deploy practices. While engaged in technical decisions and discussions you know when to defer to lead developers in the company and when to advocate more strongly for your position.

• Experience working in a serverless environments (Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud) is a plus.

• Four year degree or commensurate experience required
