Our client is a leader in leveraging massive amounts of data to create intelligent insights needed in today’s fast-moving business climate.  They are currently staffing Senior Full-Stack Software Engineers in their midtown Manhattan headquarters.

 

Qualified candidates should be well-versed in a number of back-end software languages and should be language-agnostic when it comes to choosing the right tool to solve a problem.  You are a quick learner and have can demonstrate a history of learning and applying new technologies.  Ideal candidates will have full-stack experience including knowledge of one or more modern javascript libraries as well as a few back-end languages such as Python, Java, C++, Golang, Ruby, etc.  Experience designing and developing in a service-oriented architecture is ideal, as is experience with microservices and high-performance, scalable systems.  A BSCS or equivalent degree is required, but advanced degrees are preferred.

 

The Software Engineer will work in a collaborative team environment where innovation and communication are paramount.  You must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills and should be ready to learn new technologies and apply them to modern big-data applications.

Advertising UI Engineer – Jersey City

A Digital Media Company is looking for a skilled UI engineer motivated by defining and building great
products, working with complex data models, and laying strong technical foundations. Our
teams work on large-scale, high-traffic JavaScript and Python web applications, some involving
React, Node and the Arc Publishing platform.

 

This position is in a fully agile development team and will be primarily focused on developing and
maintaining our ad delivery framework and working with other application delivery teams to improve
the analytics and delivery of advertising within our products. Applicants will leverage applications
analytics, viewability metrics and work to develop new measurement standards that evolve with the
industry.

Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain advertising delivery framework.
  • Develop and maintain header bidding framework.
  • Review and adjust templates for W3C/IAB standards compliance and optimization.
  • Review advertising analytics to improve quality of our products (Moat/Burt/Appnexus/Lotame)
  • Work with software engineers, UI engineers, and product managers to plan and execute new
    advertising, analytics, and data products features and improvements.
  • Coding JavaScript/ HTML5/CSS
    JavaScript coding using React, as well as jQuery, Angular JS and other frameworks as needed
  • Contribute to establishment of internal HTML5/css3/js development standards.
  • Use of CSS preprocessors like LESS, SASS
  • Delivery of standards-compliant Application Template for projects.
  • Write full unit testing and automated testing mirroring all development
  • Author and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with other product teams, ad operations, and vendors as needed

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working experience with Google Ad Manager (DFP) ad server, Ad Manager API and GPT tagging
    Knowledge of Advertising Header Tag integrations (Index Exchange, prebid.org, Amazon TAM)
  • Familiarity with Ad Viewability and Lazy Loading
  • Data Management Providers (such as Lotame/Krux/Adobe Audience Manager/Piano)
  • JavaScript frameworks (React and jQuery required)
  • HTML5 (hand coded) with examples of applications
  • XHTML, CSS3, AJAX

CTO Role at Blockchain Firm

An NYC based blockchain firm is currently looking to hire a CTO to lead in the development of their blockchain protocol technology.

 

The firm partners with a large research institution located in Europe that consists of nearly 30 PhDs who have built this technology from the ground up. Here in NYC they are beginning to introduce the commericial application, and are looking to bring on a CTO that can build out a team to develop additional layers on top of the exisiting technology.

 

Requirements:

 

– 10+ years experience building out and leading teams

 

– Strong academic record, ideally PhD or Master’s in Computer Science

 

– Strong communication and the ability to be public facing – speaking at conferences regarding developments in the technology

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

– Experience working with blockchain technology

 

– Experience working with functional programming, ideally OCaml or Haskell

 

– Experience having worked in the finacial sector

 

This blockchain protocol is essentially a competitor to Ethereum and is written all in OCaml. Likely the practical use of it will be targeted towards the financial sector initially.
